Wade Smith

Wade Smith

Managing Partner


Wade Smith is currently a Managing Partner and part of the investment committee at Twain Private Credit, a member of the Twain Capital ecosystem. Wade Smith joined Twain after a long career as an executive at C Spire, a privately held, Southeastern based telecommunications company. Wade was responsible for C Spire’s wireless strategy as well as its business and corporate development and product development. He was also on C Spire’s M&A advisory committee and was charged with C Spire’s strategic contract negotiations resulting in the world’s first regional iPhone Agreement with Apple, strategic partnerships with T Mobile and Sprint and other key strategic deals with Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Cisco, and Samsung, among others. Prior to joining C Spire, Wade was an attorney in Copeland, Cook, Taylor & Bush, P.A.’s tax division with a practice emphasis in corporate and securities law. As the firm’s securities specialist, Wade engaged in the private placement of equity, business organization and corporate structuring, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory compliance. Wade has a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Mississippi and a JD from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Madding King is a Partner and on the investment committee at Twain Private Credit. He is a Founding Partner of Camp One Ventures, LLC, a fund focused on acquiring non-controlling equity or convertible debt interests in high-growth emerging companies across several key industry themes which may include, among others, social media, mobility, cloud computing, software-as-a-service and technology with a focus on financial technology investments. Madding also co-founded and is an owner and the Chief Executive Officer of Brookline Group, LLC and is a Managing Director of Brookline Investments, a SEC Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and holds the FINRA Series 3,6,7,24 and 66 designations. At Brookline, King manages in excess of $180 million in the alternative asset class. Formerly, he served as a proprietary/independent trader at the Chicago Board of Trade from 1998 through February 2007, where he focused on fixed income derivatives. He has served in numerous Board of Director and operational roles across multiple industries. Madding received a B.A. in Psychology, with extensive work in Business Administration and Economics, from Vanderbilt University in 1997. He is currently in the process of obtaining his Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business.

Mack Renner

Mack Renner is a Managing Partner and on the investment committee at Twain Private Credit. His duties will also include fundraising, business development (with a focus on energy and logistics), and portfolio company oversight. From 2013 to 2020, Renner was a Partner in the boutique private equity firm Annapurna Capital Management, LLC (“ACM”), which focused on investments in the energy services and freight transportation. While at ACM, Renner served as President of portfolio company Cimmaron Acid and Frac, LLC, a $100 million revenue oilfield services business. He also performed M&A advisory services for clients in the energy, trucking, and rail industries. Renner is currently Executive Vice President at MapleMark, a $1.2 billion private commercial bank based in Dallas, Texas. His role at MapleMark includes oversight of the credit administration department, the risk management department, and the bank’s government lending programs (SBA and USDA). In his 20-plus years in commercial banking, Renner has worked in leadership roles at BOK Financial (NASDAQ: BOKF) Commerce Bank (NASDAQ: CBSH), and F&M Bank & Trust (sold by Tony and Eric Davis in 2013). In addition to banking, Renner served as a business development officer at Watco Companies, the second-largest short line railroad holding company in the U.S., where his duties included M&A, capital projects, and business development in the company’s Gulf Coast region. Renner holds an MBA from the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Stonecipher School of Business at East Central University. He is a member of multiple relevant industry associations including the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma, the Association of Short Line and Regional Railroads, and the Risk Management Association.

David Davis

David Davis brings diverse set of experiences in business operations, corporate finance, consulting, and M&A transactions to Twain Private Credit. David has been involved in both large and middle-market business transactions with an aggregate enterprise value of more than $4B. In addition to his role as a founding partner at Twain, David is also a partner at Strategic M&A Advisors, a lower-middle market, sell-side M&A advisory business. Prior to these current roles, David was a Founder at Hardwood Hollow Capital, a private investment vehicle established to acquire small businesses in the Southeast. Prior to HHC, David was a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group where he worked on strategy projects in the energy, retail, and consumer goods sectors. David began his career in business development at Lockheed Martin. David earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mississippi and is a graduate of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.

Rina White is currently a Director at Twain Private Credit, a member of the Twain Capital ecosystem. Rina White joined Twain Capital, as a Partner, after completing a successful exit from Laundry South Systems & Repair, a Mississippi-based regional provider of commercial laundry equipment, parts and service. As sole owner and CEO, Rina acquired Laundry South in February 2020 and steered the business through the COVID-19 pandemic and unprecedented supply chain challenges. In April of 2022 she sold Laundry South to EVI, a publicly-traded company. Prior to Laundry South, Rina spent four years as a management consultant with McKinsey and Company, advising Fortune 500 C-suites on their most pressing business issues. Rina began her career in economic development and was the first hire to the strategy and policy team at Louisiana Economic Development. Rina has a bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a JD from Harvard Law, and a diploma from L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. She is also a member of the Mississippi bar.

Lawrence Martin

Lawrence Martin is a Vice President at Twain Private Credit and a Principal at Twain Capital. Prior to Twain, Lawrence was an Associate in Finance and Business Operations at Tesla. Lawrence focused on financial planning and analysis with broader business decision-making and strategy, directly supporting Tesla’s leadership on all energy related products. Before joining Tesla, Lawrence was a management consultant at EY Parthenon focused on mergers and acquisitions across the deal timeline. At EYP Lawrence did both extensive modeling for phase 1 & 2 due diligence and current & future state operating planning for PE clients. Lawrence also led workstreams devoted to identifying, validating, tracking, and delivering $350mm in synergy initiatives for a $10B client acquisition. Lawrence started his career at Deloitte in the audit and assurance practice primarily serving hedge fund, private equity fund and mutual fund clients. Lawrence earned his MBA from Georgetown McDonough School of Business and holds an M.S. and B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi, as well as a CPA.
